After 89days or 2,136minutes and 135pages later, I have finally submitted my master’s dissertation in partial fulfilment of my M.Sc. in Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. It has been very intensive months, of which I had minimal time to enjoy the fabulous weather over the period of approx. 11 weeks and constantly over 30 degrees celsius (seems like talking about the weather is something I miss about the UK).

Anyway, I had mixed feelings regarding the heatwave and had some concerns about the implications of man-made climate change. This has made me think, predominantly after watching Al Gore’s ‘inconvenient sequel’ in my rare study breaks showing that we could do much more to prevent these climate peaks.

Different topic, in my disseration, I chose to evaluate the user acceptance of intelligent Voice Assistants – experience design in the future automotive. I observed that AI had a significant impact on the perception and created some fascination for voice assistants in the smartphone and smart home domains. Seeing the advantages in the automotive industry, I evaluated through an experimental user study, the implications of emerging technology for millennials in the in-vehicle user experience. Working with Daimler AG on this project was overwhelming. The back support in the meantime and resources from each and every person has led to a unique study outcome that has exceeded my expectations.

Special thanks go to both of my supervisors at the university and in the project team for their insights and guidance for keeping my study focused. I am relieved and proud of submitting work to Newcastle University and thinking of publishing my outcome as a paper in the field of UX and HCI. Next goals are set!
