Two weeks back, my team and I had the opportunity to push WAKA Fruits Ltd to the next level. We initiated our first funding round by pitching in front of the Newcastle Univerity advisory panel. Within a timeslot of 30minutes and five other contestants, we pitched as the fourth group with a 12minutes pitch and 18minutes Q&A.
The pitch itself has been conveyed the message accurately and through a sweet story. Notably, one of the panel members has come out as our potential first and loyal customer and supporter of our project. Admittedly, we had some setbacks in the financials such as the high-cost structure, which is my responsibility. However, we presented the concept honestly and transparently by, at the same time, pointing out possible solutions to the challenges we face at this stage.
As a result, we’ve got granted for the full amount, which was more than we expected. However, it gives us the required resources to work even faster on the challenges. In the upcoming weeks, we need to tackle the right steps to push as soon as we can WAKA Fruits into the market.
