Review 2017

on

I am back home at my working desk in Germany. Almost one year ago, I wrote on this table my aims for 2017. Reflecting on what I have achieved, I just can say – I smashed it!

With having 5 profoundly empowering months at Daimler, I met great people alongside my daily routine and also took every opportunity I had on my way through the year. One example is by having my master dissertation set by connecting over weak ties and get pushed into another department, which focuses on general future in the trend research department.
Furthermore, I am still communicating regularly with most of the people from my previous work environment at Daimler AG, but also through the Daimler Student Partnership (DSP) Program, I met new very supportive people at Daimler Financial Service.

My Bachelor’s degree I haven’t be able to finish with a first, grade degree, as I prioritised the outcome and the work during this time. I am not regretting it – it’s actually the opposite. I did the best I could and sacrificed my private life, to manage both interests and I am proud of the results. Admittedly, I could have managed to get the first degree, but on the other hand, I wouldn’t have made the connections and people I met by now.

Definitively, I had an head-start at Newcastle and will expand it for the next upcoming months.
