When I wrote my last post on January 3rd, 2021, I had no idea how transformative the years ahead would be. The decisions I made created a chain reaction of changes that brought me to where I am today. It was as if I was being carried through a wormhole, with little time to pause or fully connect each step to the bigger picture.
The Last Four Years
These past four years have been a journey filled with growth and progress:
Big personal milestones, including finding love; getting married; lovely moments with my family.
Career transformation, transitioning from an all-around problem solver to an IT product owner, project manager, and now exploring the R&D for Electrics and Electronics.
Leadership validation, successfully passing key challenges.
Valuable investments, in myself, my family, and my support network.
Each decision brought its own rewards and lessons, and while I didn’t always have a master plan for how it all connected, I’ve come to appreciate the beauty of the journey itself.
Sitting in the Passenger Seat
For much of this time, it felt like I was sitting in the passenger seat of a car. There’s something freeing about this position—being able to enjoy the ride, marvel at the scenery, and see what’s around the next bend. It’s a place of trust, of curiosity, and of learning.
But there comes a moment when the journey calls for a shift. When you realize it’s time to take the wheel—not because the ride wasn’t enjoyable, but because you’re ready to steer with intention, set your own pace, and decide where to go next.
Taking Back the Driver’s Seat
Now, I feel ready to embrace that shift. It’s time to:
Set clear milestones for the road ahead.
Reflect on the decisions that have shaped my journey so far.
Make confident, intentional choices about where I’m heading.
This is why I’m reviving this blog. Writing allows me to be more mindful, to savor the journey, and to ensure that my steps are purposeful. It’s a way to stay connected to my path and share insights that might inspire others along theirs.
Life is a beautiful journey, whether you’re in the passenger seat or the driver’s seat. But the time has come for me to take the wheel, with a heart full of gratitude for where I’ve been and a clear vision of where I want to go next.
